Sainik School Counselling Round 2: All You Need to Know

Are you looking to secure a seat in a Sainik School? Sainik School Counselling Round 2 for admission into Sainik Schools (including new ones) has begun! Here are some important instructions for all candidates to keep in mind.

Firstly, Round 2 e-counselling will take place on the AISSAC 2023 portal from April 7, 2023 (12 AM) to April 11, 2023 (4 PM). This round is specifically for filling any vacant seats left over from Round 1.

Eligibility for Sainik School Counselling Round 2

Now, who is eligible for Sainik School Counselling Round 2? If you were allotted a school in Round 1 but chose the RECONSIDER option, you’re in luck! Additionally, if you were not allotted any Sainik School in Round 1, or if you didn’t register or do choice filling during Round 1, you can participate in Round 2.

Please note that it’s assumed that all candidates and their parents participating in AISSAC Counselling have read, understood, and agreed to the terms and conditions of AISSAC 2023. 

So, please ensure you read and check all instructions and FAQs uploaded by SSS on the AISSAC 2023 portal, as well as the leftover vacancies available in schools for Round 2 through Seat Matrix.

Candidates who opted RECONSIDER option

If you opted for RECONSIDER in Round 1, you don’t need to register again for Sainik School Counselling Round 2. However, if you opted for combination Sainik Schools only, you can fill a total of 10 schools based on your order of preference. Class IX candidates are eligible for Sainik Schools only.

For Class VI candidates who opted for any of the combinations of NSS 40% Route for New Sainik Schools, you can fill 5 new Sainik Schools. If you’re already studying in a New Sainik School in Class V and opted for NSS 60% Route, your school (as per data provided by NTA) will be non-editable.

If you didn’t fill your choices in Round 1, the last saved choices (if filled) will be locked automatically upon reaching the deadline for choice filling in Round 2.

Candidates who didn’t registered during Round 1

For those who haven’t registered or done choice filling in Round 1, here are some instructions to follow for Sainik School Counselling Round 2:

To sign up and register on the AISSAC 2023 portal, you’ll need your AISSEE 2023 Application Number. 

Make sure your mobile number and email ID registered during the AISSEE 2023 registration are functional to receive an OTP for sign-up. Once you submit the OTP, set your new password, and confirm it. Remember to keep your password safe and not share it with anyone.

When you sign in with your new password, a declaration screen will appear. Please read it carefully before clicking on “I Agree.” You should also read the Guidelines Standing Operating Procedures (SOP) carefully before agreeing to the declaration. 

Once you agree to the declaration, a screen containing your credentials will appear. Please verify your credentials, as registration will not be considered successful without confirmation. A change of category or other credentials will not be allowed at this stage.

Finally, for Class VI candidates, you can choose your schools by clicking on the Choice filling tab on the AISSAC 2023 portal. The choice filling options will be as per one of the 7 combinations you opted for during the AISSEE 2023 registration. 

For example, if you opted for combination Sainik Schools only, you can fill a total of 10 schools as per your order of preference for Sainik School Counselling Round 2.

Combinations for Choice-Filling

As you proceed with the AISSEE 2023 registration on the NTA portal, please keep in mind that your choice filling options will be based on one of the seven combinations that you have opted for during registration. 

These combinations include:

• Sainik Schools (SS) only
• SS + NSS 40% route
• SS+ NSS 40% route + NSS 60% route
• SS+NSS 60% route
• NSS 40% route + NSS 60% route
• NSS 60% route only
• NSS 40% route only

Please note that changing your combination is not allowed at this stage, so be sure to choose carefully.

If you have opted for Sainik Schools (SS) only, you will be able to select a total of 10 schools according to your order of preference. Candidates who have opted for any of the combinations of NSS 40% Route for New Sainik Schools will be able to fill 5 New Sainik Schools.

For candidates who are already studying in New Sainik School in Class V and have opted for NSS 60% Route, please note that your school will be automatically assigned based on the data provided by NTA and cannot be edited.

For Class IX candidates filling their choices for Sainik School Counselling Round 2 on the AISSAC 2023 portal, simply click on the Choice filling tab on the left side of the screen and fill a total of 10 schools according to your order of preference.
