RIMC History
The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) is a Ministry of Defense-affiliated Inter Service Category “A” establishment run by the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) (MoD). His Royal Highness, Prince Edward VIII, the Prince of Wales, officially opened the Prince of Wales Royal Indian Military College on March 13, 1922.
It was situated on the grounds of the former Imperial Cadet Corps (also known as Rajwada Camp) amidst 138 acres of verdant farmland close to Garhi Village in the Dehradun Cantonment.
How to Apply at RIMC
The college primarily serves students who want to join the Indian Defense Forces by offering education as per residential-public schools. Individuals who fall short of their goal are still qualified to enrol in college or a professional programme once they graduate from the RIMC. The College recommends applicants submit their applications only if they are enthusiastic about the challenge of joining India’s Defence Forces.
There are no admissions beyond Class VIII. When joining, the candidate must be enrolled in Class VII or have completed Class VII from an approved school. The relevant State Governments must receive application forms.
Every six months, about 25 cadets are admitted. Applicants must be at most 11 and a half years old or older than 13 on January 1 or July 1 of the term they join.
