This year’s entrance exam was held on January 21, 2024. In the month of November-December 2023, the Sainik School Tilaiya Jharkhand Admission 2024 application form for classes VI and IX was available.

Sainik School Tilaiya’s foundation stone was laid on September 16, 1963, by the founding principal, Lt. Col. L.E.G. Smith, Union Defence Minister K Krishna Menon, and the then-Chief Minister of Bihar, K B Sahay. The eligibility criteria of this school differ for both classes 6 and 9. Those details are mentioned below:

• For class VI (Boys/Girls): Candidates should belong to the age group of 10 to 12 years as on 31 March 2024. Candidates should be born between 01 April 2012 to 31 March 2014.
• For class IX (Boys/Girls): Candidates should be 13 to 15 years old as of 31 March 2024. Candidates should be born between 01 April 2009 to 31 March 2011.
• The students should get passed in their classes 5 and 8 before applying for admission. Appearing students for the academic session 2023-24 can also apply.

Application Fees Details

The students should submit the application fees while applying for Sainik Schools. The application fees will be different for every category. They are as follows:

• For SC/ST category – Rs.500/-
• For General/Defence category – Rs.650/-
