The idea of Sainik School originated in the mind of the late V K Krishna Menon who served as Indian Defence Minister in the early 1960s. The aim of setting up these institutions was to provide the best of services to the most dynamic minds of young boys in India, especially from the backward rural areas of the country. The objective was to nurture the young generation by providing best-in-class infrastructural services for induction into Indian Armed Forces as Commissioned Officers. The students in these schools are developed on 3 fronts, Mental, Physical and Intellectual. The overall process is strictly formulated to develop them as responsible and independent citizens. The institution along with the government not only provides them with a platform to develop their physical strength but also provides opportunities to shape their social attitudes and ideologies to make better Indian citizens.

There are 33* Sainik Schools in India covering most of the states of the country. The government has proposed to set up 4 more such institutions. Every institute has designated seats allotted to them, and they fill these seats through a common entrance exam “All India Sainik School Entrance Exam” (AISSEE). The seats are also reserved for SC, ST, OBC, and Defence Dependents along with domicile reservation. Every school has some seats reserved for the students of the state other than the state in which Sainik School is located.
Admission Criteria: Admission is open for only Class 6th and 9th every year. The students also need to fit the age criteria to seek admission.

Sainik School Answer Key 2024 For Class 6th & 9th
The exam was conducted on 21 January 2024 for admission into 6th and 9th classes. The Sainik School Society will release the answer key for every set on its official website aissee.nta.nic.in. Students can visit the website and calculate their marks themselves. The cut-off percentage for the interview and the medical test is as follows;
