Selection Procedure of Admission at Kendriya Vidyalaya

For Class 1st

The draw will select students of lots for class 1st, and there is no written test for it. Transfer of school is not possible.

For Class 2^nd – 8^th

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will not conduct an entrance exam to select the applicants for admission in the 2nd class to class 8th. According to the official notification, the selection of the applicants will be based on the priority category system. And then, if the number of applicants is more than the number of seats available, KVS may follow the selection procedure with a lottery system as per the category.

For Class 9^th

Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan will conduct an entrance or Admission Test to select the applicants for admission to class 9^th. The applicants will be selected based on their marks on the admission test. So candidates must qualify for the admission test and achieve a maximum score to get selected for admission to the school.

For Class 11^th

For admission to class 11^th, KVS will select the applicants based on their marks in class 10th. There are different minimum required marks for additional streams of the 10^th class. Following are the required marks/CGPA according to the class 10^th Stream:
