The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) is a premier military school located in Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India. Established in 1922, it is affiliated with the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).

The Rashtriya Indian Military College (RIMC) is a Ministry of Defense-affiliated Inter Service Category “A” establishment run by the Army Training Command (ARTRAC) (MoD). The primary aim of RIMC is to provide quality education and training to young boys for the National Defence Academy (NDA), Indian Naval Academy, and other armed forces. 

RIMC Admission 

RIMC aims to provide military training, academic education, and overall development to boys between the ages of 11½ and 13 years who aspire to become officers in the Indian Armed Forces.

Admission to RIMC is open to boys and girls from all over India, and the selection process is based on a written exam followed by a medical fitness test and an interview. The written exam comprises questions in English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge and is conducted twice a year in December and June.

Once selected, the students are admitted to RIMC in Class VIII, and the course duration is two years. During these two years, the students undergo rigorous training in academics, sports, and military-related subjects, which include drills, weapon training, map reading, and physical fitness. The aim of this training is to develop discipline, leadership, and team spirit among the students.

RIMC Curriculum

The school follows a six-year course structure, divided into three terms of four months each, with two months of vacation between terms. The students are trained in various activities like a drill, PT, horse riding, swimming, and adventure sports like trekking, mountaineering, and rock climbing.
