Rashtriya Indian Military College has released the official notification for the entrance examination of 2023. The RIMC 2023 Entrance Examination for admission of Boys and Girls to Class VIII for the Jan 2024 term will be held at the specified centres within the country on 03 June 2023 (Saturday). About RIMC
Rashtriya Indian Military College, located in Dehradun, was established in 1922. It is an Inter-Service Institution that provides military training to young boys and prepares them for entry into the National Defence Academy. The college’s rich heritage has contributed significantly to developing the country’s military.
Eligibility for RIMC 2023 Entrance Examination
The candidate should either be studying in Class VII or passed Class VII from any recognised school at the time of admission to the RIMC, i.e. on 01 Jan 2024. Both Boys and Girls are eligible to apply for admission to the RIMC, Dehradun.
The candidate should be in the age bracket of 11½ to 13 years as of 01 Jan 2024, i.e., they should be born between 02 Jan 2011 and 01 Jul 2012. The applicants should note that no application for change in the date of birth from that originally given by them would be entertained later by the college authorities.
RIMC 2023 Entrance Examination Pattern
The RIMC Entrance Examination for the January 2024 term will comprise four subjects. The first three subjects, i.e., English, Mathematics, and General Knowledge, will be assessed through a written test carrying a total of 400 marks.
The Viva-voce will carry 50 marks and will be conducted only for those candidates who qualify in the written examination. The following is the examination pattern for RIMC Entrance Examination 2023:
(a) English Written Paper: 125 Marks
(b) Mathematics Written Paper: 200 Marks
(c) General Knowledge Written Paper: 75 Marks
(d) Viva-voce: 50 Marks (only for candidates who qualify in the written exam)
Total: 450 Marks
Schedule of Examination
The examination shall be conducted on 03 Jun 2023 (Saturday). The candidates will be examined in the following subjects: English Written Paper, Mathematics Written Paper, General Knowledge Written Paper, and Viva-voce (Only for candidates who qualify in the written exam). The total marks for the examination are 450. The written examination will be conducted in English and Hindi.

Procedure to Obtain Application Forms
The Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers can be obtained from The Rashtriya Indian Military College, Garhi Cantt, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Pin- 248003 by making an online payment of Rs 600/- for General Candidates & Rs. 555/- for SC/ST candidates on RIMC website www.rimc.gov.in.
The Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers will be dispatched by Speed Post only. Alternatively, the Prospectus-cum-Application Form and Booklet of Old Question Papers can be obtained by sending a written request with a demand draft of Rs 600/- for General Candidates & Rs 555/- for SC/ST candidates.
Selection Procedure
The selection process consists of a written examination and viva-voce. The viva-voce will be held for only those candidates who qualify for the written examination. The list will be sent to the respective State Governments by the RIMC after approval from HQ ARTRAC. The date for viva-voce will be intimated later.
Results
Results for RIMC 2023 Entrance Examination will be uploaded on the RIMC website. Candidates are responsible for regularly checking the website for the latest status update. It is mandatory for all the selected candidates to join RIMC within 10 days of receipt of the Joining Instructions. Joining Instructions will be sent to the email ID mentioned in the Application Form by the candidates.
